Gastroenterology and Hepatology Diseases Research Center (GHDRC)

Gastroenterology and Hepatology Diseases Research Center (GHDRC) of Qom University of Medical Sciences, started working in the Shahid-Beheshti Hospital Complex, on October 2014 , The Second approval of Deputy of Research of Qom University of Medical Sciences May 2016 and continued its activity in the Shahid Beheshti Hospital Complex. GHDRC was officially approved on August 2016 by the Deputy of Research and Technology ,Ministry of Health and Medical Education.

This Center, as a Center for gastroenterology and hepatology Diseases, is to conduct basic and clinical science researches in the area of gastrointestinal and liver inflammatory and infectious diseases and also cancers. One of the programs of the Center is to attract the cooperation of domestic and foreign researchers to conduct interdisciplinary research. The Center is also training Clinical Research Physician in the cancer fields of the gastrointestinal and liver in 2018 from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education Research Deputy.

The programs of the Center:

- Conducting the registration process of gastrointestinal and liver diseases, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBS), autoimmune hepatitis, and celiac disease;

- Training above-mentioned target groups and nutritional support of the patients with celiac disease;

- Collaborating on cohort research projects on the above-mentioned digestive diseases;

- Cooperating with other research centers and interdisciplinary studies;

- Training public and health care people by holding conferences and educational workshops

Research priorities:

- Reviewing the status of gastrointestinal and liver diseases in the region;

- Performing practical and interventional researches in the scope of medical procedures and new treatments to improve the digestive diseases in the region;

- Determining the needs and cooperating with the health authorities for planning in large-scale
